3. Do you have a concern with our church membership using either Word-for-Word or Balance Translations (see definitions below)?

1. Word-for-Word Translation - (Examples: KJV, ASV, NASB, NKJV, ESV) - generally 11th grade reading level. The intent is to translate the meaning of each word, as best as possible. 2. Balance Translation - (Examples: NIV, GW, CSB, CEB) - generally 7th grade reading level. The intent is a balance of word-for-word and thought for thought translations for better comprehension.

4. Do you have a concern with our church NOT accepting either Thought-for-Thought or Paraphrase Translations (see definitions below)?

1. Thought-for-Thought Translation - (Examples: GNT, NCV, CEV, NLT) - generally 7th grade reading level. The intent is to translate the meaning of each thought. 2. Paraphrase Translation - (Example: MSG, The Message) - The intent is to translate via a restatement of a translation in modern terms.
